I received the below email in July, 2011:

Hi,

Greetings from Mrs. Bell's 10th grade summer science class! Our class is currently working on group projects related to staying healthy and staying away from negative influences like cigarettes. They have been doing a decent amount of research to find the best resources for their projects and final presentation. A few students found this page http://www.freedomvillage.net/id83.htm to be very informative and resourceful for their project. Thank you for providing this source on your site!

I (Mrs. Bell) started a bonus program earlier in the year for my students to take a little extra time in doing research and bringing their findings to me for bonus points. In this situation if they find other resources that will make a site I have approved more resourceful, they get additional bonus points if they educator decides to use their findings. Two groups approached me with the following resource that if I may suggest would make a nice addition to the other resources already on the page:

Their summer class ends in the middle of August but this lesson ends at the end of next week. They will only be able to receive bonus points for this lesson, so we hope to hear your decision before then!

I really appreciate the time you took in building your page and providing reliable resources for my students and myself. Thank you for all your hard work and giving my students a further incentive to try harder.

Kind regards,
Mrs. Jodiene Bell and the 10th Grade Class

Note from the webmaster of Bubba's Quit Smoking Links: I can't thank Mrs. Bell and her Summer Class enough for the above links. Please check them out as they are excellent websites!

Description

"Good Day Friends at Bubba’s Links to Quit Smoking,

After recently coming across your site, Bubba’s Links to Quit Smoking, I can tell that we both have an interest in joining the fight for clear and healthy lungs. I think that your site offers a wonderful source that people can relate to and face the facts. Smoking is not only bad for their health, but can also contribute to other health complications as well. My name is Katrina, and I am the Communications Director for Mesothelioma Symptoms.

Mesothelioma is caused by exposure to Asbestos, a common household building material used heavily in insulation and fireproofing that can easily latch onto the inner lining of the lungs when inhaled. This cancer is diagnosed in approximately 2,500 to 3,000 Americans every year. Smoking does not cause Mesothelioma, however, the combination of smoking and asbestos exposure significantly increases a person's risk of developing cancer of the air passageways in the lung."
This was Bubba's very first quit smoking experience. He kept a written journal which he later transcribed for the internet to try and help others from his experiece.

This site has been on the web since 1996. I discovered Quit Smoking Online accidentally while on Zeal,  which I am a proud member of. Looksmart's Zeal chooses their sites carefully and I knew QSO would be special and I wasn't disappointed! I wrote to them requesting an exchange of links. Right away I heard from John who placed a link on the site for Freedom Village the following day.  This is a non-profit website that exists by donations.

The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.

Excellent information provided by Terry Martin.
Great site but has an awful lot of advertising that can be a bit distracting.
This website will tell you everything you need to know about "Your Lungs". This webpage will take you directly to American Lung Assoicaiton's "Stop Smoking" page.
Smoking and Tobacco: "Thinking about quitting smoking? We know that the decision to quit smoking is not made easily but just visiting this site indicates that you have taken the first big step. You, your family and friends will benefit from your perseverance."
Unfortunately this page has pop-ups but I hate to have to delete it from this page. I lost touch with Tina but I do know she loved Steven very much. Tina lost her love way to early to the demon....smoking. She created this web page not only as a tribute to Steven...but to you....the viewer in the hope it may help save a life.
This page has been online for years now and I have lost touch with Tina but the meaning of this site is still powerful. Please be warned of forced music and pop-ups.

Freedom Village Quit Smoking MySpace Friends
Due to changes made over time by MySpace many MySpacers have switched over  to FaceBook

This is Freedom Village QS Forum's official site and the number of friends are alway growing. If you have a MySpace I hope you too will join as this shows support towards helping others take control of their addictions to tobacco.
Warning: This site has music.
I met Tommy for the first time on MySpace and then I saw his "Truth" commercial and right away he became my number one MySpace friend. Incredible man who I respect greatly for his efforts to help save lives from tobacco.
Aaron is a musician but he is also a man who has lived through the tragedy of his mother's death from tobacco abuse. The video of his mother has changed the lives of many and as for Aaron....I'm speechless when I think how he must feel when he sees this video to see his mother die over and over again but yet....he and his mother wanted this video so others would not have to know their tragedies.
