"Freedom Village Quit Smoking Forum is meant to support and not to replace the relationship that exists between a member or visitor and his or her physician or counselor."
The forum's appearance, graphics and links are often updated but our commitment to our original mission has stayed the same. After almost 9 years on the internet we continue to be a non-profit internet community existing in bringing awareness to smokers, ex-smokers and non-smokers on the dangers of tobacco abuse.
Freedom Village Forum is ad-free and generates no profits for either the manager or any one associated with the community. The amount of $34.95 is paid every six months to Network54 by James Davis of Fort Pierce Florida to maintain an ad-free community and provide special, free features to members who have registered (once again this is a free service) with N54 and given a username and password. After over 9 years of purchasing services from N54 the owner of Freedom Village Forum is confident N54 will not disclose your email address to anyone.
Freedom Village Quit Smoking Forum, also known as Freedom Village Non-Smoking Forum is open and free to all expressions (religion, race, politics, etc) so long as it does not intentionally offend the majority or make a direct attack against any one individual (ALWAYS be respectful). Paticipation in the forum is FREE and your privacy will be respected. Keep in mind the forum is open to the public and this means all internet users......the owner/manager will maintain your privacy to the best of his/her ability. You have nothing to loose and a lot to gain by participating in this community. We are commited to providing you with an internet forum to help you quit and stay quit from tobacco abuse and at the same time your participation is helping others!

The online community experience is best when everyone follows a few house rules. There are guidelines you should be aware of before you post messages in this forum. While most people are polite, friendly and respectful; there are some individuals that could choose to behave in a disrespectful and argumentative manner. The owner/manager/moderators will take appropriate steps to keep discussions within these guidelines.
It is important for the success of this on-line community to police yourselves. Treat others with kindness and respect. Remember that this public venue is read by many people spanning all walks of life. The forum averages any where from 250 to 300 hits per day.
Please understand that we are not attempting to censor any messages or opinions posted, but this is a moderated discussion forum. We simply want to preserve the spirit of an open, interactive discussion without offending anyone. This means that we reserve the right to remove or edit inappropriate messages, or to lock a discussion thread. Before taking any of these actions, a moderator will attempt to steer the discussion back to the topic, if this is possible and appropriate.
The additional step of editing or deleting a post will only be taken in appropriate circumstances; again, the intent is not to censor or to change the meaning of any post. If we edit a post and you do not like the changes please feel free to notify us and we will delete your post.
These subjects/topics are not off limits but please tread carefully. They can cause an explosion of misunderstanding if not carefully worded.
RULES TO REMEMBER.......
1. No posting of personally identifiable information - i.e. real names, addresses, telephone numbers., etc. Please respect our privacy guidelines.
2. No for-profit advertising or SPAMMING will be permitted. If for any reason the owner is unable to pay the twice yearly fees or is late paying Network54, the host of Freedom Village Forum, ads, even pop-ups could occur as a result. This is a stipulation N54 places on Forum Administrators if they wish to keep a forum online without payment. The administrator, James Davis will do his best to alert members and visitors if he is unable to pay dues and N54 implements ads for their benefit.
3. Foul Language and obscene images will not be tolerated. This site is family friendly, and all posts and posters must respect the integrity of the site.
4. Personal Attacks and Flames will not be tolerated. If you want to praise or criticize, give examples as to why it is good or bad, general attacks on a person or idea will not be accepted.
5. Keep on topic: Responses to a particular thread should be on-topic and pertain to the discussion. Users should use the "Post New Topic" button to start a new discussion which would otherwise be off-topic in the current thread. Threads that are off topic may be closed by the moderator.
6. Private Discussions: Sometimes, a discussion thread strays off into a friendly dialogue or a heated debate among a very small number of users. If you find yourself not interested then by all means leave that thread alone and start a new topic based on your circumstances or interest. Be respect of the other thread and allow those individuals to carry on there topic of conversation.
7. Occasionally the board "acts up" and you may find your message has been duplicated, not to worry, duplicate messages will be deleted or consolidated by our moderator(s).
8. Any messages you post will stay available to the public for as long as the discussion board is online or at the descretion of the Administrator/Owner. Please post carefully, once you have posted your message, it is here to stay (or you may request removal from the Administrator or a Moderator). We will not edit the content you wrote unless it does not conform to these guidelines. If we edit a post and you do not like the changes, we will delete the message at your request.

Forum Moderators are community volunteers that give up their time to help build a better community. They will assist with focusing topics and enforcing guidelines. They have the ability to edit/delete posts, close or delete topics, and to temporarily moderate users' posts.
Moderators are chosen carefully by the owners and we are in need of dependable moderators we can count on. If you are interested and have the time to spare, please contact us.

Visitors who lurk cannot be identified by anyone and your privacy is 100% guaranteed. The only information that shows is the “hit” from the Country you visit from.
ISP addresses can be found in administration for all posts. These numbers are kept confidential and used only to track computers for anonymous/or known posters making spam/offensive/hurtful/flame posts. In extreme cases an ISP address can be used to ban someone from the community.
Here is a bit of final advice to those who post or are new to posting. We suggest you create an email account from yahoo, hotmail or some place other than your primary address for sending and receiving emails with those connected to Public Community Forums. Once you have established friendships and trust, then you might consider sharing other, more private information but do so with extreme caution!
