Note:
These guidelines apply to all BubbaJames (James Davis' Forums) which include "Freedom Village Quit Smoking Forum", "Polio Survivors in the 21st Century Forum", "Freedom Village MySpace Forum" and "Liddie's Village Forum".
"Freedom Village Quit Smoking Forum is meant to support and not to replace the relationship that exists between a member/visitor and his/her physician/counselor."
The Freedom Village Quit Smoking Forum has returned after a short absence. Not only does it have a new look but our commitment to our original mission has strengthened. After nearly six years on the internet we continue to be a non-profit internet community bringing support to smokers, ex-smokers and non-smokers on the dangers of tobacco abuse.
The forum is open and free to all expressions (religion, race, politics, etc) .......so long as it does not "intentionally" offend the majority or make a "direct" attack against any one individual (ALWAYS be respectful). Remember.........It's FREE, you have nothing to loose and a lot to gain by participating!
It is a public arenia for all who have been affected by polio. It can be those who were affected physically and family & friends of the polio survivor. Medical professionals are encouraged to share their knowledge of PPS and observe and learn from those directly experiencing PPS symptoms.
Please participate whenever possible, share resources, experiences and ask questions. My one goal is to bring together all who are survivors and who's lives were forever changed by polio.

The online community experience is best when everyone follows a few house rules.
There are guidelines you should be aware of before you post messages to these Discussion Forums. While most people are polite, friendly and respectful; there are some individuals that choose to behave in a disrespectful and argumentative manner. As owner & operator I will take appropriate steps to keep our discussions within these guidelines.
It is important for the success of these on-line communities to police yourselves. Treat others with kindness and respect. Remember that these are public venues read by many people spanning all walks of life.
Please understand that we are not attempting to censor any messages or opinions posted, but these are moderated discussion forums. We simply want to preserve the spirit of an open, interactive discussion without offending anyone. This means that we reserve the right to remove or edit inappropriate messages, or to lock a discussion thread. Before taking any of these actions, a moderator will attempt to steer the discussion back to the topic, if this is possible and appropriate.
The additional step of editing or deleting a post will only be taken in appropriate circumstances; again, the intent is not to censor or to change the meaning of any post. If we edit a post and you do not like the changes please feel free to notify us and we will delete your post.
These subjects/topics are not off limits but please tread carefully. They can cause an explosion of misunderstanding if not carefully worded.
RULES TO REMEMBER.......
1. No posting of personally identifiable information - i.e. real names, addresses, telephone numbers., etc. Please respect our privacy guidelines.
2. No advertising unless approved by the forum owner(s) and SPAMMING will not be tolerated.
3. Foul Language and obscene images will not be tolerated. This site is family friendly, and all posts and posters must respect the integrity of the site.
4. Personal Attacks and Flames will not be tolerated. If you want to praise or criticize, give examples as to why it is good or bad, general attacks on a person or idea will not be tolerated.
5. Keep on topic: Responses to a particular thread should be on-topic and pertain to the discussion. Users should use the "Post New Topic" button to start a new discussion which would otherwise be off-topic in the current thread. Threads that are off topic may be closed by the moderator.
6. Private Discussions: Sometimes, a discussion thread strays off into a friendly dialogue or a heated debate among a very small number of users. If you find yourself not interested then by all means leave that thread alone and start a new topic based on your circumstances or interest.
7. Occasionally the board "acts up" and you may find your message was duplicated, not to worry, duplicate messages will be deleted or consolidated by our moderator(s).
8. Any messages you post will stay available to the public for as long as this discussion board is online. Please post carefully, once you have posted your message it is here to stay. We will not edit the content you wrote unless it does not conform to these guidelines. If we edit a post and you do not like the changes, we will delete the message at your request.

Forum Moderators are community volunteers that give up their time to help build a better community. They will assist with focusing topics and enforcing guidelines. They have the ability to edit/delete posts, close or delete topics, and to temporarily moderate users' posts.
Moderators are chosen carefully by the owners and we are in need of dependable moderators we can count on. If you are interested and have the time to spare, please contact us.

Our Forums are closely monitored and updated from a password protected Administration site. Network54 maintains its own strict privacy policies. Please be assured, the manager of these forums nor Network54 has access to any personal information on you. Keep in mind.....messages posted may be viewed by anyone on the Internet. Do not post any personal or private information you don't want others to see.
The owner/moderators have the ability to delete any posts that they judge are offensive, hurtful or considered spam or flame to the community. Deletions are not to be considered as censorship against you but is being done for your best interest and the community as a whole.
If you have a major disagreement with someone then please try to resolve it by emailing the individual(s). If you post what is deemed an "inappropriate" message in response, you will be reprimanded and possibly banned from the community. If you need a mediator(s) to help you resolve the issue please email us.
Visitors who lurk cannot be identified by anyone and your privacy is 100% guaranteed (the only information that shows is the “hit” from the Country you visit from).
ISP addresses can be found in administration for all posts. These numbers are kept confidential and used only to track computers for anonymous/or known posters making spam/offensive/hurtful/flame posts. In extreme cases an ISP address can be used to ban someone from the community.
Here is a bit of final advice to those who post or are new to posting. We suggest you create an email account from yahoo, hotmail or some place other than your primary address for sending and receiving emails with those connected to Public Community Forums. Once you have established friendships and trust, then you might consider sharing other, more private information but do so with caution!
